••••• Laurie Marie Funfar loves art. Laurie earned her BA in Fine Art from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2004. Printmaking was her concentration and is her artistic passion. Catherine Mulligan introduced her to printmaking over 12 years ago in Fargo Public Schools Creative Arts Program, and she has been printing ever since. She intends to spend more time exploring silver-smithing, a craft she studied in college. Her primary influence in visual art is electronic music and the culture that surrounds the expression of this music. She lives to be happy, drive positivity and to promote peace, love, unity, and respect (PLUR), her mantra in life. I was very excited when I first heard about this project. I really wanted to participate, be a part of it! As I looked into the HERD mission, it made participating in it even more important. I want to play a part in raising awareness for the arts, and in doing so create something that will, I hope, inspire others as I am inspired. To me, it is positive all the way around; considering this we can only move forward! |
