••••• Ann and Sheila painstakingly adhered tiles of glass to their bison. They created very colorful “bubble-shaped” images on his sides and added special elements such as a tiny ladybug and the logo of their studio - a wild-haired woman.••••• Sheila and Ann opened Big Break Amusing Mosaics, a mosaic art studio in October 2005. The business offers classes, parties, studio time, mosaic supplies and commissions. Ann and Sheila grew up in Fargo and became lifelong friends in high school. Going their separate ways after school, they always stayed connected and shared similar dreams and aspirations. The opening of the studio has been a culmination of talents and interests including connecting with others and bringing out the hidden artist in everyone. Herd About the Prairie has been a fabulous opportunity to expand our mosaic capabilities in life size form. The dimension and sheer size of the project has afforded us a great collaboration to work as a team within our mosaic community of friends. This project has given us a new appreciation for how art adds beauty to life and lets you see ordinary shapes in whole new ways.
