Agri-Country Bison

Agri-Country Bison

•••••

I grew up in Fargo and throughout my school years art was always my favorite class. My interest continued with classes at NDSU, MSUM and from other art teachers who came to Fargo for special classes. Working with oil, acrylic and watercolor mediums all give me enjoyment. Sketching and then painting original family farms has given me a way to preserve for many families the memories of the vanishing North Dakota small family farm. I have designed a wall mural for our church and had the children and adults paint with their handprints. The title is "accept the works of our hands". My friends own the Lockhard Elevator in Grandin. They commissioned me to paint a mural in their new sunroom. This was an interesting way to preserve in paint the classic design of a North Dakota grain elevator with the agricultural bounty of soybeans, sugar beets and wheat crops this family produces.

I enjoy the challenge of creating original unique art that brings special memories and experiences to the viewers. Antique plow lay/shares that Grandpa used to turn the Dakota soil have been the choice of many families for their special farm picture with memories.

My "Agri-Country Bison" shows the Red River Valley agricultural industry today. The soybeans, corn, wheat, sunflowers, barley, potatoes, flax, alfalfa and cattle show diversity bringing new riches into our communities.

Early bison provided life needs for the Native Americans. Agriculture today is te new bison of wealth for our future.

I hope my bison will continue to promote my family farming agriculture heritage.
